We Need Your Help!
We need your help to finance our participation in The FIRST® World Championship so that we can compete with robotics teams from around the world.
On March 30, 2019, after 90 qualifying rounds of competition at the Buckeye Regional competition, our team was selected for an alliance with robotics teams from New York and Cleveland. In the play-off rounds, our alliance won its quarterfinal round after a sudden death match, won both of its semi-final matches, and lost in the Championship match.
In addition to our team being a Regional Finalist, we qualified for the World Championship by winning the Chairman’s Award. This Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST and it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST.
We are so excited that our team qualified for the World Championship, but our budgeted expenses to participate exceed $16,000. These expenses include the $5000 registration fee along with lodging and food for our 33 students and 2 coaches in Detroit, transporting our robot to the competition, and purchasing additional components for our robot.
Prior to this season, our team had not been selected for the play-off rounds of a regional tournament and, since our rookie season in 2015, our team had not won a major award at a competition. We are thrilled with our incredible success this year, but we had not budgeted for the substantial expenses associated with going to the World Championship. We only have until April 20 to raise the necessary funds so please click the “donate now” button and fill out the sponsorship form
